Sailing basics for Mexican Riviera

Typical patterns across the major lines, not a guarantee for any one sailing — length, ports and stops vary by line, ship and itinerary. We confirm the specifics once we know your dates and headcount.

Why incentive programmes go to sea

Running the programme

The awkward part of any incentive trip is that you commit to the travel long before you know who is going. A group block is built for exactly that: cabins are held on a reduced deposit, and names go on them much later — typically up to the final payment date.

That lets you announce a real destination and a real date at the start of the qualification window, which is what actually drives the behaviour you are rewarding, while keeping the commercial commitment small until the winners are known.

  • Hold cabins before the qualification window closes
  • Reduced deposit, with names added close to sailing
  • Release unfilled cabins before the final payment date
  • Private awards dinner or welcome reception on board
  • Onboard credit as a second, visible layer of the reward
  • Partners and plus-ones priced alongside the main block

What your group size unlocks

FAQs

Mexican Riviera incentive cruises: your questions

We do not know who is qualifying yet. Can we still book?

Yes, and this is the main reason incentive programmes use group blocks. Cabins are held on a reduced deposit with no names attached, and travellers are added later — usually up to the final payment date, typically 90 to 120 days before sailing.

What if fewer people qualify than we planned for?

Unfilled cabins can normally be released from the block without penalty before the final payment date. Hold slightly more than you expect to need; it costs nothing to give back and a great deal to add late.

Can we host our own awards dinner on board?

Yes, once the block is large enough. Private dining rooms and event spaces are bookable, and lines will work with you on menus, AV and branding. The size threshold varies by ship, so tell us you want one and we will only quote ships that can host it.

Can we add onboard credit to the reward?

Yes. Group amenity points can be converted into onboard credit, and you can buy more on top. It is a visible extra — recipients spend it during the trip rather than noticing a slightly better fare they never saw.

Can partners come?

Almost always, and it markedly increases how the reward is received. Partners can sit in the same block at the same group rate, either funded by the company or paid for by the qualifier.

How is incentive travel treated for tax?

That depends on your jurisdiction and how the programme is structured, so it is a question for your finance team or accountant rather than for us. We can supply a detailed per-person cost breakdown to help them make the call.
